If you've requested a verification email for multi-factor authentication but can't locate it, here are some things to try:
1. Check your spam or junk folder
Automated emails are often filtered by spam detection systems. Open your spam or junk folder and look for an email titled Your verification code from @jora. If you find it there, mark it as "Not Spam" to ensure future emails land in your inbox.
2. Check your promotions or other tabs
If you use Gmail, emails can be automatically sorted into tabs such as Promotions, Social, or Updates. Check each of these tabs, as verification emails sometimes end up there instead of your Primary inbox.
3. Check your "other" folder (Outlook/Hotmail users)
Microsoft's Focused Inbox feature splits emails into Focused and Other tabs. If you use Outlook or Hotmail, check the Other tab in case the Your verification code email was sorted there instead of your Focused inbox.
4. Search your inbox
Use your email client's search function and try searching for:
• The email subject: Your verification code
• The sender's domain (e.g. '@jora')
• 'verification', 'code', or 'one-time password'
5. Check you're looking in the right email account
It's easy to check the wrong inbox. Make sure you're logged into the email account that is registered to your account, especially if you have multiple email addresses.
6. Verify the email address on your account is correct
Check that the email address registered to your account is correct and doesn't contain any typos. If the email address is wrong, the Your verification code email will be delivered to the wrong address and you won't receive it. If this is the case, contact our support team.
7. Wait a few minutes
Email delivery can sometimes be delayed by a few minutes due to server load or network latency. Wait 2–5 minutes and refresh your inbox before requesting a new code.
8. Request a new code
If the email still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, use the Resend code option on the login screen. Note that previous codes are invalidated once a new one is issued.
9. Check email filters or rules
You may have an inbox rule or filter set up that is automatically moving or deleting emails from certain senders. Check your email settings for any active rules that could be affecting delivery from *@jora*.
10. Check Your Archived or Deleted Emails
Some email clients auto-archive or delete messages. Check your Archive and Trash/Deleted Items folders in case the email titled Your verification code was moved there accidentally.
11. Check email forwarding settings
You may have an auto-forwarding rule set up that redirects incoming emails to another address. If so, the Your verification code email may have been delivered but forwarded elsewhere. Check your email forwarding settings and look in the destination inbox if applicable.
12. Check if your inbox is full
If your mailbox has reached its storage limit, new emails may be silently rejected or bounced without any notification. Check your mailbox storage and free up space if needed, then request a new code.
13. Disable or temporarily pause email filtering tools
Third-party tools like Unroll.me, SaneBox, or similar inbox management apps can intercept and divert emails. If you use any of these, check within the tool itself or temporarily disable it and try again.
14. Add @jora as a safe sender
Adding @jora to your safe senders list or contacts can help prevent future filtering issues. Refer to your email client's help documentation for instructions on how to do this.
15. Check your email quarantine
Some organisations use an email quarantine system that holds emails flagged as potentially suspicious before they reach your inbox. Log in to your organisation's email quarantine portal and look for an email titled Your verification code from @jora. If found, release or approve it to have it delivered to your inbox. If you're unsure how to access your quarantine, contact your IT team for help.
16. Try a different browser or device
If you're accessing your email via a web browser, a caching or session issue could be preventing new emails from appearing. Try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or switching to a different browser or device.
17. Corporate email security tools
Some organisations use advanced email security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Mimecast, or Proofpoint, which can silently delay, block, or strip emails containing verification codes as a security measure. This is separate from quarantine and may not be visible to you directly. If you suspect this may be the case, reach out to your IT team and ask them to investigate and whitelist @jora.
18. Contact your IT / email administrator
If you're accessing your work email, your organisation's email system may be blocking or filtering the verification email at a server level. Reach out to your IT team and ask them to whitelist @jora.
